Legends of the Rise
We can arm wrestle or sword fight but why do we need to engage in violence when we can choose peace, choose quiet, choose bliss, choose silence? Instead of being reactive, be responsive. After all, no problem gets solved by using violence. And there are shades of violence. Some are obvious to the naked eye, while some are not. Some are passive. Passively aggressive. Passively violent. Pen is mightier than the sword so perhaps we could write instead? We could revert back to the old ways of snail mail instead of quick text or whatsapp messaging. I feel that way, we do not get lost in the mundane; we do not get lost in the issues that are not going to matter in a day, a week, a month or a year.
After attending this workshop, you will no longer have to second guess your communication style and you will never have to be bullied into keeping up with the joneses. The best thing is, you will learn that what you do is just an amalgamation or an attempt to copy what we have learned; it is a reiteration of learned accepted manners of communication.
They say everything improves with maturity but what is maturity? It is not the increasing of the age, rather it is a state where you do not have much to say because you hardly have an opinion. One does not need to be liable for an opinion but that same opinion could make house in someone's mind and grow without even realizing that a certain seed has been planted. While there is no one responsible, that in itself is a huge liability. The world is round; what goes around comes around, which is why instead of exercising the option of having an opinion, it is kinder as a species of human beings to be human and to be compassionate. We do not need to wait to age and to grow up in order to be matured. Maturity is established the day you leave the game and let the amateurs play it.
Learning how to use your voice, whether it is in the shape of words, painting, music, movement and silence, to build bridges instead of burning bridges. A bridge built upon strong structures like advocacy and authenticity, not weighed down by ego and falsehood and inauthenticity just to fit in and just to belong. It is too expensive of a price to pay to belong if you need to lose your soul. Traffic jams are caused because there is too much to convey and too few channels of communication. Once we are able to engage different platforms of communication, all that is bubbling within us to be heard will find an avenue to flow through without needing someone to listen, without finding ourselves stuck in traffic jams and above all, knowing when to use which platform to communicate in which situation. If one can master this aspect of life, one can become a master negotiator because one would know to settle only when it is a win-win.
